Children's Book Illustrations
In development for BCBF 2026
I am working on two new stories at the moment, which I will be bringing with me to the Bologna Children's Book Fair in April 2026 to find homes for them, along with The Journal of a Wandering Robyn, which is also getting a bit of a revamp. New artwork for all three projects will be available soon. The two projects in the works are both for older primary school age children, one is a lively and fact filled non-fiction book about identifying trees in all four seasons. I am working with talented macroecologist Dr Hannah White to make sure of the science. The second is a highly illustrated fiction for ages 8+ about the adventures of a ginger cat called Orange, and her best friend Kip, the vegetarian flea. They live comfortably with her humans in a campervan on the road, that is, until the humans see Kip jumping on Orange's ear, and a full scale riot breaks out. Orange and Kip must work out what to do, before Orange is caught and has the dreaded 'flea stuff' forcibly applied...
MA project: The Journal of a Wandering Robyn (currently in redevelopment)
The Journal of a Wandering Robyn is a journal written as a first person stream of consciousness of the tomboyish, neuro-spicy just-turned-ten year old Robyn, who LOVES drawing. She sticks in drawings, photos, ticket stubs, favourite sweet wrappers, bits of junk – anything really – into her new journal. Of course as well as writing and doodling all about her life, like living with her Dad and annoying older half brother, and about the fun she and her two best school friends, Sabrina and Elis get up to. Robyn is always trying to find the next adventure, but she doesn't always listen when Sabrina and Elis have doubts. When this comes to a head in the story, Robyn risks losing them both. Can she make amends, especially when she's on the trail of her biggest adventure yet. I am lucky enough to be working with cultural advisor, Sabrina Hoque. Below is some examples of previous artwork from the book, with refreshed artwork coming soon.

MA project: The Secret Jungle
The second of the my two final masters projects is a silent story of a girl and her cat exploring the woodland next to the graveyard behind her house, and finding a whole jungle world of her imagination to explore.

MA project: Panic! At the Dishcloth
My first narrative project on the MA was an autobiographical comic about how I experience panic attacks. It is a short graphic novel that I would like to work up more in the future, but I've shared a few of the illustrations from the lastest version below.
